Cosmo Bauers experimentelles Publikationsprojekt Custom Settings setzt sich mit dem Verlust von trans Geschichte auseinander, indem digitale Collagen aus trans Archivmaterialien auf Kleidungsstücke siebgedruckt werden. Mit dieser „anarchivischen" Methode möchte Cosmo öffentliche, körperlich erfahrbare Auseinandersetzungen mit trans Erinnerungskultur anstoßen, in der queeren Tradition, Kleidung als Widerstand zu nutzen. Custom Settings stellt herkömmliche Formen des Archivierens und Publizierens infrage und versteht sich als Hommage an die DIY-Praxis, die in behinderten und trans Communities fest verankert ist. Zusätzlich werden Themen wie trans sein und Behinderung in riso Zines und Postern behandelt.

Xinan Pandan is a disabled non-binary intersex facilitator, poet and multimedia artist of color, based in Berlin. Their artistic work includes drawings, installations, interventions and writings on the topics of oppression, trauma healing, neurodivergence, dream spaces, community care, loving connections and the magic of this world. After publishing the zines “Home is where your chosen family is“, “Träume & Traumata“ and “Pain Flares & Care Bears“ , “Growing our souls” is their fourth illustrated poetry zine and dives into the topic of community heartbreak, the difficulties of putting transformative justice into an actual practice, conflicting feelings of pain and forgiveness, hope and the need for things to get better.
Cosmo Bauer's experimental publishing project Custom Settings reckons with the loss of trans history by screenprinting digital collages of trans archival materials onto wearables. Through this anarchival methodology, Cosmo hopes to evoke public, embodied engagements with trans cultural memory in a queer legacy of apparel as resistance. Custom Settings challenges traditional forms of archiving and publishing as an homage to the DIY practices inherent to disabled and trans communities. Additionally, themes of trans sexuality and disability are explored in risoprinted zines and posters.
